Tango to Istanbul is the first comprehensive and international event of IstanbulTANGO. The festival is designed as tango days during which many dancers from all over the world will share their knowledge and experience, dance with joy and establish new friendships. Unlike other festivals, during the day time , there will not only be lessons but other attractions. On Thursday and Friday, together with the festival participants, we will arrange a Bosphorus Tour by boat, and visit the Grand Bazaar and other important historical sites. This way, we believe that the participants will have a better Istanbul experience.
During the following festivities there will be awaiting for you: World-famous Maestros, 5 night shows, milongas at wonderful locations, Tango Cafe 333, “After Hour Party” after milongas, visits to Grand Bazaar and other historical sites, Bosphorus Tour, carefully selected courses at all levels, women’s technique seminars from Lucia Mazer, tango performances from International Heroes, international DJs, Tango footwear and clothing exhibition stands and a photo exhibition from Osman Çilsal.
In this event, Ezequiel Farfaro – Lucia Mazer, El Pajaro – Belen, Aydın Kocamusaoglu- Pelin Koyun and Claudio Forte – Barbara Carpino will be with us at workshops and tango shows. This year’s meeting is very special. The world-wide famous dancers, Ezequiel Farfaro and Lucia Mazer come together again. In addition, with the women’s technique seminars of Lucia Mazer all women will make significant contributions to our festival.
At 2010 Istanbul becomes the European Capital of Culture. All historical sites and museums in Istanbul are preparing special presentations. Together with the Thursday participants, we will visit these places. On Friday, we will take the Bosphorus Tour, during which we have prepared a surprise for the participants.
For the first time in Istanbul, this year, we are organizing a daytime milonga on Saturday and Sunday at Tango Cafe 333 which has a gorgeus view of the Bosphorus. The day-time milongas will be from 16:30 to 19:00 and give you the opportunity to dance during the day.The “After Hour Party” will take place till the mornings after the Milongas every night. More information on the “After Hour Party”s will be announced soon.
The world famous Maestros together with carefully selected International Guest Dancers will be with you. Andre-Andrea from Romaina, Sergei-Vera from Russia, Loukas-Georgia from Greece, Umut-Mine from Ankara will have amazing shows.
As one of the world famous Argentine Tango instructors says “The music is the leader” Therefore, we have arranged for well known DJs who will make you dance till the morning with their carefully selected choices. Luca Lamberti from Italy, Brian Falk from Denmark, Ömer Bayraktar, Cenker Uzun and Murat Elmadagli (from Turkey) are preparing their best selection for you.
