IV International Vilnius Salsa Festival

Posted on 04 March 2010 by nitin

Star Date: 20/05/2010
End Date: 24/05/2010
Location: Vilnius, Lithuania

What makes a great salsa festival? That’s a question we frequently put to ourselves and to those who have enjoyed our three festivals here in Vilnius so far.

A great atmosphere is vital, of course – intimate, cosy, relaxed and, above all, happy. Also key is ensuring a high quality for both the instructors and the venue – ours has an excellent dance floor, particularly great for the parties each night – but keeping the size of the festival relatively small or that intimate atmosphere could be lost.

The Vilnius Salsa Festival is aimed primarily at social dancers – i.e. more dancing, less shows. And to keep everything relaxed and stress-free, there aren’t any competitions. We simply bring together all the Lithuanian dance schools for a wonderful three-day celebration of salsa and we welcome visitors from across the globe to our beautiful capital city in the month of May, when it looks at its most resplendent.

We focus on LA-New York and Cuban style and we bring in the best instructors from around the world. Troy and Jorjet will be

coming from USA next year to bring their own very special brand of magic to our festival. Jorjet Alcocer is one of the most versatile dancers on the scene with an incredible natural style, while Troy Anthony is a fantastic entertainer known for his Creole style and his remarkable knowledge of salsa history alongside his excellent dance skills.

Whether you’re already an accomplished salsa dancer or a complete beginner, there will be classes suited to your level. You’re pretty much guaranteed to make a lot of new friends and to enjoy the festival from start to finish – that’s certainly the feedback that we’ve been lucky enough to have from 2007, 2008 and 2009.

So come to the Baltic state of Lithuania from 21-23 May 2010 and experience the magic of our festival for yourself. We put it on to share our overwhelming passion for salsa. So come and share it with us – you won’t be disappointed!
